USA Embassy Addis Ababa Job Vacancy 2024

October 17, 2022, Addis Ababa – In collaboration with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa conducted a study on the “Roles and Responsibilities of Media in a Democracy” with Ethiopian journalists who were chosen from various administrative districts of the country. The training sessions focused on women’s involvement and a diverse representation of media specialists in Ethiopia, including topics like mobile journalism, media entrepreneurship, investigative journalism, and journalism ethics.

360 journalists were selected for the $200,000 program’s first round based on their response to ICFJ’s open call for participation. Online, broadcast, and print journalists participated in virtual training sessions that took place in June and July of 2022. Fifty media professors and journalists who performed well in the virtual sessions were asked to take part in an in-person training in October 2022 as part of the second phase. In order to get practical experience in writing and creating unbiased material for various media platforms, participants were urged to investigate innovative and interactive methods.

This is just another instance of how Americans and Ethiopians are working together to better lives.
